Thiruparankundram

One of the important landmarks of the city is Thiruparankundram which is located 5 kms south west of Madurai district. Moreover, this town is widely popular among the people for its ancient temple of Hindu Deity Murugan and Islamic Dargah. Various bus transportation facilities are available for the people heading towards Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and other cities. The Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple is considered to be a famous temple in Madurai which is dedicated to Lord Muruga.

Further, the temple can be reached via road from Madurai and the railway station is located in just 1 km away from the city. People can also visit the Islamic Dargah of Hazrat Sulthan Sikandhar Badhusha Shaheed on their way to Madurai.
